Handling a tired kid is no parents dream after a long day of work.
Getting our kids to eat better will not only help the kids but also us.
Kids that eat nutritious and healthy food...
* Have more energy
* Concentrate more easily
* Stay full for longer
* Can keep their ideal weight easier
* Maintain teeth and gum in a healthy condition.
A few tips on why we should encourage our kids to eat more vegetables and healthy food.
And it would probably not be so bad for us either...

Please be quiet so I can scream!
I am normally a quite calm mother, I try not to raise my voice too much but keep it on a normal level. Well the other day I just couldn't help myself.
Baby C was just fussying so much that it became unbearable to hear his voice. Everything was wrong according to him and he screamed and talked to me in a very inappropriate manner.As he kept screaming I just couldn't help myself and screamed back at him. Be quiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeet! It was very loud but, it was also very effective.
I felt so bad about using my voice in such a way but it was also a nice release of the anger that was boiling up inside of me. After that he was surely quiet. It might not be the best solution to deal with fuzzy kids but once in a while it can be a very effective solution, as I saw from own experience.
I once did a voice experiment in the woods. We were suppose to just scream, as much as we wanted to. And we did. And it was so good. It was a powerful experience that I unfortunately have not had the privilege to experience again.
Perhaps I should seek out some woods...
How do you deal with fussy kids? Any tips?

Enjoy the silence
I love it when the whole house is quiet, there is something special with that silence. It's like the world is still. An occasional car pass by on the street but except that it is totally quiet.
When you know your family is deep a sleep, a perfect time to unwind and enjoy the silence that is. After a long day of work and lots of noises some quiet night time does wonders. Turn off the TV and sit back and listen. Reflect on the day and be thankful for what you have and what tomorrow will bring.
Makes me wish it was night time already. :)

Soccer this - Soccer that
At to what level should kids occupy themselves? Some parents seems to be doing nothing but driving to soccer training, dance lessons and who knows what more.
A friend of mine drives her kids to at least 2 activities per day! Now that is a lot of training for kids in my opinion. Of course it's good if the kids practice some kind of sports but to have a different activity everyday does not leave much space for personal growth.
We live in a time and a world where we try to occupy ourselves to the edge and when the TV isn't working or we haven't got anything to do we get restless and don't know what to do with ourselves. Isn't there something wrong there?
Your child come to you and says; "Mom I'm bored". Instead of saying "Oh well doing nothing can also be a good thing" you instantly try and occupy your child so that he is doing something. But what are we saving our children from? Boredom?
I wish more of us would try and live now and just enjoy what we have...

Great discovery for parents!
I was watching TV the other day and saw this funny program about kids (up to 3) and how to react to things. They were discussing how their impulses make them do things they have been told not to.
Mother and child is decorating a chocolate cake- mother has to attend the door and tells her 2 yr old daughter not to touch the cake. When the mother comes back the girl's face is covered with chocolate. Mother asks if she touched the cake - the child says no.
This little test was to show that kids cannot resist their impulses even though they know it is wrong. Many times we parents thinks that our children are just misbehaving and not listening to what we say but this shows that that is not always the case. Of course you can't use it as an excuse for bad behavior all the time or you will be fooling yourself :)
Well I find it to be a great discovery for parents- really shows us how the mind of a small kid is functioning.

Childhood memories
This is childhood for me. The smell of Granny's Oil of Olay face. The bathroom that smelled so lovely with the unmistakable hint of OO.
I grew up with Oil of Olay.
I mean it was almost like that, it was everywhere. And it still is. This is a real Classic. The Beauty Classic!
One of my friends told me the other day that her Granny had given her lots of OO creams- for "just in case". We laughed about it thinking of how for our Granny's its still the ultimate beauty product. And it is so sweet to see actually.
As new brands come out on the beauty market everyday it is nice to see some names out there still going strong. Makes me wonder if I will still use OO when I'm in my seventies *lol* I probably will... I am pretty sure it will still be around then...

Why did I ever get a dog???
When I got married I told my husband I wanted a dog, he said OK and told me I would be the one to take care of the dog. Sure fine by me.
One day I decided our little dog needed company so I got her another slightly larger friend. They get on very well.
But oh are they messy! One goes in the garbage the other pees inside as soon as opportunity is given. Instead of appreciating my lovely dogs I get mad at them daily. Poor little things.
I mean I do love them and would cry if anything happened to them but at the same time I have mixed feelings. I would probably not get a new dog...
Now I gotta go clean up the mess they've made outside...
