Are your kids eating right?

Handling a tired kid is no parents dream after a long day of work.
Getting our kids to eat better will not only help the kids but also us.

Kids that eat nutritious and healthy food...

* Have more energy
* Concentrate more easily
* Stay full for longer
* Can keep their ideal weight easier
* Maintain teeth and gum in a healthy condition.

A few tips on why we should encourage our kids to eat more vegetables and healthy food.
And it would probably not be so bad for us either...

Please be quiet so I can scream!

I am normally a quite calm mother, I try not to raise my voice too much but keep it on a normal level. Well the other day I just couldn't help myself.

Baby C was just fussying so much that it became unbearable to hear his voice. Everything was wrong according to him and he screamed and talked to me in a very inappropriate manner.As he kept screaming I just couldn't help myself and screamed back at him. Be quiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeet! It was very loud but, it was also very effective.

I felt so bad about using my voice in such a way but it was also a nice release of the anger that was boiling up inside of me. After that he was surely quiet. It might not be the best solution to deal with fuzzy kids but once in a while it can be a very effective solution, as I saw from own experience.

I once did a voice experiment in the woods. We were suppose to just scream, as much as we wanted to. And we did. And it was so good. It was a powerful experience that I unfortunately have not had the privilege to experience again.

Perhaps I should seek out some woods...

How do you deal with fussy kids? Any tips?

Great discovery for parents!

I was watching TV the other day and saw this funny program about kids (up to 3) and how to react to things. They were discussing how their impulses make them do things they have been told not to.

Mother and child is decorating a chocolate cake- mother has to attend the door and tells her 2 yr old daughter not to touch the cake. When the mother comes back the girl's face is covered with chocolate. Mother asks if she touched the cake - the child says no.

This little test was to show that kids cannot resist their impulses even though they know it is wrong. Many times we parents thinks that our children are just misbehaving and not listening to what we say but this shows that that is not always the case. Of course you can't use it as an excuse for bad behavior all the time or you will be fooling yourself :)

Well I find it to be a great discovery for parents- really shows us how the mind of a small kid is functioning.
